Do I Need a Website?
A Website is one of the first places a
person will go to get information. Before the Internet, people searched for a company, product or
service via the Yellow Pages. This would usually supply the
name and telephone number desired, and occasionally, a
picture advertisement as well.
Today, not having a
Website is equivalent to not having a
listing in your local Yellow Pages! In fact, the Internet is
so strong that even the Yellow Pages have a Website! Moreover, a
Website can
provide much more to its visitor than simply a company name
and telephone number. Let's face it, most of the
population has access to a computer and the Internet, and
I am happy to say that the numbers continue to grow by leaps and bounds!
As of this writing, over 600 million people have Internet
access, which is quite a large amount of potential visitors
to your Website! With the
abundant amount of information available on the Internet,
it is easier and more effective to go to a search
engine, enter a product or service name, and be supplied
with a Website to cover all
of your needs. Additionally, a Website will likely offer
pictures, prices, maps, telephone numbers, etc.
A Website offers you credibility. Many customers want to be
able to "check you out" before doing business with you and
even more people search the Internet before making a
purchase at a "brick-and-mortar" store. One common method of
research is to search for your Website.
Additionally, if
you don’t have a Website, you are eliminating millions of
potential customers, losing business to your competitors and
missing out on an affordable, yet powerful advertising tool.
A Website is an important part of your business, so make
sure you treat it as such!
